Personal Development
Throughout Personal Development, we want to inspire our students' to broaden their horizons, consider new ideas, critically analyse key debates within our society and to accept and celebrate diversity.
Personal Development will allow students to gain a better understanding of themselves and others, preparing them for the wider world. We will challenge our students to build character strengthening skills which instil confidence and understanding of the local, national and international community.
Within the classroom students will be encouraged to have discussions and debates in a dynamic and safe environment, where students are able to demonstrate skills in oracy, critical thinking, resilience, compassion, empathy and understanding. This creates an important foundation for their learning and development so they can achieve both socially and academically for their time and Hylands and beyond.
