Beginners Basketball Referee Course a Success at Hylands

We hosted a beginner’s basketball referee course at the school. It was designed to give participants both theoretical and practical knowledge. It included two hours of theory followed by two hours of hands-on practice. Attendees were able to apply what they have learnt in real game scenarios.

As a reward for their role as PE ambassadors, four Year 10 students were selected to take part in the course. They performed exceptionally well, demonstrating a high level of responsibility and commitment, a true credit to both the school and themselves, and their efforts were widely praised.

These students are now qualified to referee lower school basketball matches, and have the opportunity to pursue further qualifications, such as a Level 1 referee certification. This will allow them to officiate local matches in the future.

We are incredibly proud of our PE ambassadors and look forward to seeing them apply their newfound skills on the court.
