Boys' Hockey Team Shines at Essex Tournament

Last week, the boys’ hockey team participated in the Essex Hockey Tournament at Chigwell School, showcasing the growth and dedication of the team. Over the past year, our hockey programme has gone from strength to strength. Player numbers have continued to rise, and the skills on display have been impressive.

In time for the tournament, the team proudly debuted their new school kit, generously funded by the PTA.

The tournament proved to be a challenging day for the boys, as they faced off against teams with more established hockey programmes. Despite the fierce competition, our players earned praise from opponents for their determination and skill. Special mention goes to Basil, who was exceptional in goal and received accolades for his outstanding performance throughout the day.

The standout moment of the tournament came during our match against Coopers, the eventual Essex champions. Our team held strong and frustrated the opposition, preventing them from scoring until the final 10 minutes of the game.

Players of the tournament were Harry in Year 10 and Alves in Year 9 for their exceptional performances.

The next match is scheduled for after half term against Newhall School, and we are excited to build on this success as the season progresses.
