St. Michael's Care Home Visit – A Day of Engagement and Kindness

On Friday, January 24th, a group of five students had the opportunity to visit St. Michael's Care Home. Their visit aimed to better understand how a care home provides stimulating activities and supports its residents. During their time at the care home, the students
interacted with the residents, asking thoughtful questions and engaging in activities that brought joy to the residents' day.

The students participated in a friendly game of indoor bowls and also offered hand massages in the home’s sensory room, helping to create a calming environment for residents. Throughout the visit, the students exhibited exceptional manners, showing respect and responsibility in every interaction.

The residents welcomed the students with open arms, and as a result of their exemplary behaviour, the students were invited to return as "buddies" to continue their work. They will soon be visiting again to read with the residents, further enriching their time at St. Michael’s
Care Home.

A member of staff said, “The students' kindness and dedication were truly commendable, and they were a credit to their school.”
