Year 7 and 8 Teams Shine at Borough Indoor Athletics Competition

This week, the Year 7 and 8 teams competed in the highly anticipated borough Indoor Athletics competition, facing off against a field of highly skilled opponents. The event featured a wide range of athletic challenges, including standing long jump, shot putt, speed bounce, as well as individual and relay races using reversa boards.

The pupils delivered strong performances across all events, demonstrating excellent resilience, respect, skill, determination, and sportsmanship. Special mentions go to Armani from Year 7, who won his 1-lap race with impressive speed, and Freddie, whose resilience shone through during the demanding 6-lap race. Henry also stood out, securing 3rd place in the standing long jump.

Other standout performers included Emmanuella from Year 8, who finished in second place in shot putt, and Lexi from Year 7, who placed in the top 5 in all her field events. Kaisey, who stepped in as a reserve at the last minute, showed remarkable responsibility and commitment to the team, ensuring the group remained strong throughout the competition.

Overall, the pupils showed great potential and team spirit, making their school proud at this exciting event.
