Chris White

Mr White is a highly experienced educator with a background in both professional sport and academia. He holds a BSc in Sport & Exercise Science from Canterbury Christ Church University and an MSc in Sport & Exercise Nutrition from Loughborough University.

Prior to his career in education, Mr White worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach, bringing a strong focus on physical and mental health and resilience to his work with students. He has taught a range of subjects including Science, Geography, Mathematics, and Physical Education.

Mr White has held various leadership positions in schools across London and Kent, including roles such as Head of Year, Head of Key Stage, and Assistant Headteacher. He joined Hylands School in 2022 as Deputy Headteacher and was subsequently appointed as Head of School for September 2024.

Mr White is passionate about the quality of teaching and learning at Hylands and is committed to ensuring the highest possible academic and personal achievement for all students. He believes in setting high expectations and is proud of the students who achieve their goals through hard work and dedication. He strongly values the Hylands Habits of Responsibility, Respect, and Resilience, which underpin the school's ethos.

Outside of school, Mr White enjoys staying active through running, gym workouts, and long family dog walks in the Essex countryside.
