Beatrice Twumasi

Beatrice Twumasi

Mrs Twumasi is a highly experienced and dedicated educator with a passion for ensuring all students reach their full potential. She holds a BA in Education, Culture and Society Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London, a PGCE from the University of Westminster, and an MA in Education and Leadership from the University of East London. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate at University College London (UCL), researching cultural awareness in schools, and recently completed her National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) in 2021.

Mrs. Twumasi began her teaching career in 2012 in Further Education, where she gained valuable experience in teaching KS4 and KS5 Health and Social Care, Psychology, and Child Development. She has held various leadership roles, including Curriculum Team Leader, Lead Practitioner for Teaching, Learning and Quality Assurance, and Head of Quality.

Prior to joining Hylands School, Mrs. Twumasi successfully transitioned to secondary education, where she led departments in Child Development, Psychology, Health and Social Care, and Food Technology. She is a qualified examiner and standards verifier for several awarding bodies and has a strong track record of supporting students in achieving excellent outcomes.

At Hylands, Mrs Twumasi has taught Business Studies, Psychology, and Health and Social Care, and leads the Psychology and Health and Social Care departments. As a Senior Leader, she oversees Attendance, English as an Additional Language (EAL), the Food and Technology department, Pupil Premium, and the TKAT ACE programme.

Mrs. Twumasi deeply values the inclusive and supportive environment at Hylands, where students are encouraged to be themselves. She appreciates the strong sense of community and the dedication of staff in going the extra mile for students. She is particularly proud of the school's free breakfast club, which provides a nutritious start to the day for all students and staff.

Outside of school, Mrs Twumasi enjoys spending quality time with her family, volunteering in her community, and socialising with friends. She also dedicates time to her doctoral research, which involves extensive reading.
