Cat McMillan
Assistant Headteacher: Behaviour and Attendance

Miss McMillan is an experienced educator with a passion for Physical Education and student wellbeing. She holds a BA Honours in Physical Education (Secondary QTS) from the University of Chichester.
Miss McMillan began her teaching career in 2005, and has taught both Physical Education and Personal Development. She has held a range of leadership positions throughout her career, including Head of PE Department, Second in PE Department, Gifted and Talented Lead, Deputy Head of Year, and Head of Year. Currently, she serves as Assistant Headteacher at Hylands School, with responsibilities for Behaviour & Attitudes and is the school Designated Safeguarding Lead. She has been instrumental in the development of the Hylands Habits: Responsible, Respectful, Resilient.
Miss McMillan deeply values the strong sense of community that has developed at Hylands. She particularly enjoys the increasing diversity within the school community, which fosters a greater understanding of the world and brings everyone closer together. She is proud that Hylands prioritises student wellbeing, ensuring that all students feel valued, listened to, and supported in making positive choices.
Outside of school, Miss McMillan enjoys playing sports, particularly hockey, and spending quality time with her family, especially her niece and nephews.
