GCSE Results Day

Hyland School celebrated the GCSE results of students from Year 9 to Year 11.  The overall attainment of students has increased by almost half a grade per student based on previous years.  In particular, English, art, dance, German, Italian, IT and business studies have performed above national levels for year 11.  Year 10 have had some fantastic results with over 60% of students achieving a grade 4/C. This will give them the ideal foundation for next year.

Andrew Parry, our Headteacher, said “we are thrilled that the hard work and dedication put in by students and staff over the last year has paid off.  This year has been particularly challenging given the fact that almost all subjects were being examined for the first time with the new specifications and there was so much uncertainty with the grade boundaries.  Our students have risen to the challenge of these more difficult courses and we are extremely proud of all they have achieved”.

Hylands School is very proud of its achievements at GCSE and A Level and indeed of the school itself and would like to invite prospective parents and students to the Open Evening on Thursday 27th  September 5.00pm to 8.00pm and the Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday 7th November 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
