Hylands Games Night - Sat 20th January 2018

You are invited to join us for a fabulously fun board game evening on the 20th of January.

Hylands School has this year restarted the Duke Of Edinburgh scheme which offers a chance for students to gain a globally recognised qualification which not only helps them gain great life skills but is also recognised by employers and further education establishments.

The group of students who are working towards their Bronze award this year have made a great start to the program, and it will culminate in an expedition in the summer where they will navigate their way to a campsite carrying all the equipment they need for a night under the stars, including food, tents and clothing.

We have some of the equipment they will need, but are hoping to raise funds to ensure that the scheme can be enjoyed by as many students as possible going forward with minimal outlay, and so are raising funds to get more equipment.

A local Chelmsford based company, https://www.counterculturegames.com who sell unusual and educational board games have offered to come into the school and bring a selection of their games for people to play, free of charge. There is no obligation to purchase anything, but if you choose to a proportion of your spend will go to the school PTA and D of E.

There will be homemade cakes and snacks to purchase on the evening as well as classic fete games such as Sweets in the Jar, Tombola and Water or Wine.

We will be in the school hall from 5 pm till 9 pm on Saturday 20th January, so please come along for as long or as little time as you would like, and experience some new types of games and more traditional fun.

We look forward to seeing you there!
