CoronaVirus Update - Key Workers 23.03.2020

The Government  have asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and for schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.

Thank you to parents and carers who are following this advice.  Attached is a flow chart that will help parents to decide whether or not to send their children to school.

As a school we are pleased to be playing our part in combating coronavirus (COVID-19) by staying open for children of key workers and for our vulnerable children.  As you will appreciate we are under significant pressure with staff needing to self-isolate.  At present  we can cope with number of children being sent to school however in future we may have to make different arrangements.  Only if we need to we will prioritise pupil places s follows:

  1. Pupils where either parent is a member of NHS frontline staff e.g. doctors and nurses
  2. Pupils who have a social worker or are known to the school to be extremely vulnerable
  3. Pupils where both parents are on the key worker list
  4. Pupils where one parent is on the key worker list

This is a temporary arrangement until either sufficient staff return or provision can be found at another school.  We will inform you individually if we need to prioritise places.

The Government has produced some very useful guidance for families which I recommend you read.
